About Us

Our Company has been in existence for some 25 years, and is family owned.

We manufacture and supply a unique and exclusive coal catalyst powder that is fed into coal fired boilers by means of an electronic applicator/blowing unit standing alongside the boiler. The catalyst and applicator machines are manufactured at our factory in Hammarsdale, KZN, South Africa.

Our Technicians service and top up the applicator units on a weekly basis. The senior qualified Representatives call on our clients on a regular basis to assist with any boiler combustion problems, or related issues.

The product has a proven record of assisting the boiler operators in achieving far higher boiler efficiencies and reducing the cost such as coal savings, less need to strip and clean the boilers due to cleaner combustions process, and finally substantially reducing gas emissions through the smokestack.

There are other suppliers of coal additives, but our catalyst is unique and the only product that not only keeps the boiler clean, but also reduces sulphur emissions (Cause of industrial acid rain). The results of recent tests carried out independently by various clients, showing a halving of poisonous gasses, is attached below.

The cost of the product is very affordable as only 200 grams of catalyst is required to treat a whole ton of coal! It is 100% South African source, and manufactured.

We have a client base that includes various large companies such as Mpact, Sappi, Clover Dairies, Masonite, Sumitomo, Tongaat Huletts, to name but a few. We have exported substantial quantities to China, India and the Far East in general.

What We Do

CHINCO FIRESIDE - COAL CATALYST

OPTIMISE YOUR BOILER FIRESIDE SYSTEM WITH NO MECHANICAL FITMENTS OR CAPITAL INVESTMENT NEEDED.

Successfully used within the following industry applications:

- COAL

- BAGASSE

- WOOD BARK

- LOW GRADE, OR BROWN COAL

WHAT IS OUR CATALYST

A simple environmentally safe solution, that is easy to manage & cost effective

with improved efficiency.

Quantity of product can be adjusted to meet required efficiency.

Does not require specialised application or equipment.

AN ECO-SAFE SOLUTION

Our catalyst does not adversely affect the environment, it's completely environmentally safe and will help reduce your factories carbon footprint.

Engineers’ operational problems and our CHINCO Catalyst solutions.

•    Coal savings of 3%+ are obtained by using CHINCO catalyst to reduce the ignition temperature of the coal and all its constituents like tars and soot. Surprisingly enough a large number of Boiler Engineers are not aware of the vast amount of small size soot particles (resulting in a large total surface area) in the coal. The importance of coal-derived soot in radiative heat transfer has been addressed by several researchers, and in the catalytic combustion of soot, lowered the combustion temperature by more than 100 °C. This creates a new found source of fuel to combust instead of the loss through the smoke stack as black wet smoke and non-combusted particulates. The financial savings on coal can pay for the CHINCO Catalyst!

•    Description of CO2 - carbon dioxide, and CO - carbon monoxide, are always confused. They are both colourless and odourless gases, and at high concentrations, both can be DEADLY. The difference is that CO2 is a common, naturally occurring gas required for all plant and animal life. CO is not common, but DEADLY. It is most often a byproduct of oxygen-starved poor combustion.

The media often adds to the confusion. In the past, we heard stories of suicide by sticking a garden hose in a car's tailpipe and window, then revving the motor till the CO (carbon monoxide) puts the car's occupant to sleep (True). Today we are wrongly told our car’s tailpipe is a major source of the "deadly" greenhouse gas CO2. (Not true, it is CO, Carbon Monoxide) It's easy to see why we are confused. Tolerance/danger levels also differ like chalk from cheese. CO at only 700 ppm is life threatening, and CO2 only at levels of 80,000ppm is it life threatening. CO2 is required by all life forms so why the big noise about CO2 and not CO emissions? CHINCO Catalyst destroys the deadly CO carbon monoxide through complete combustion.

•    SOx and NOx can be reduced drastically by using the harmless and non toxic natural CHINCO Coal Catalyst. Conclusive independent test carried out at Rooiwal Power Station and several other Companies, including some in China. The percentage drop in using the catalyst was amazing. This is achieved through improved combustion by reducing the ignition temperature of the coal plus its hydro carbon contents such as soot char and even sulphur. Combustion thus starts earlier and is more complete. See these results in the independent test at Rooiwal Power Station.  (LINK) Another reason for the reduction of SO2 is the Mn02 in the CHINCO mix reduces SO2 to a harmless sulfate that is then removed through the ash. (MnO2+ SO2 MnSO4 )

•     Black sooty smoke and particulate emissions will also be virtually eliminated with the use of the CHINCO Catalyst due to the lower ignition temperature combusting the flammable soot and other particulates in the boiler gasses.

•    Fouling occurs when, normally, the volatile constituents in the ash condense on fly ash particles, convection tubes, and existing ash deposits at temperatures which keep the volatile constituent liquid and allow them to react chemically to form hard bonded deposits. Slagging also takes place when the molten ash particles strike a wall or tube surface and cool down to solidify. CHINCO Catalyst however increases the fusion temperature of ash and allows complete combustion of the ash and tar like particles in the coal before they can do the harm in their liquid state. The ash is now dry and friable, and easy to wash off the tubes where soft dry build-up occurs.
